C.M.I Safe Company is an Australian owned and operated safe manufacturing company that commenced its operations in Sydney NSW in 1940 where it was established by a master safe engineer by the name of Mr Eric Berry Senior. The CMI Safe Co was originally located at Dolls Point NSW but in 1970 the company relocated to Carlton NSW where it can still be remains to this today where 4 of Mr Eric Berry senior son's still continue to actively run the day to day operations of the business, manufacturing an extensive range of high quality safes and strongroom doors.

Although CMI Safe Company makes approximately 70 percent of their safe products in Australia, they do however get some CMI safes manufactured in China. These particular safes are designed in Australia but are built & constructed in China to CMI Safe Company high standards and specifications. CMI still gave these safes the same warranty assurances as given to the Australian made safes, being 5 year warranty on construction, this is in line with the locally manufactured safes. 

The digital or mechanical dial combination locking mechanism are UL rated, and any key locks are that of the Ross key lock brand, a leading and well known Australian made high security key lock. All locking mechanisms being digital locking, combination dial locking or key locking are installed at the CMI Safe factory during a rigid pre delivery inspection by highly skilled safe engineers.
