Cash Rating

Only Trust Certified Strength

What does Cash Ratings mean and why do they matter?

Theft and burglary resistant safes are tested and rated based on how long it takes an intruder to break in. Cash ratings range from $5,000 to $500,000 without monitored alarms. With a monitored alarm, ratings may be doubled depending on your insurer. Insurance companies typically assess based on:

  1. Materials and thickness of the walls, door, and body
  2. Barrier materials inside the safe
  3. Quantity and type of locks
  4. Mechanism strength and locking system
  5. Re-locking devices to resist forced entry

Standard Cash Ratings and Certifications

A certification plate affixed inside the safe confirms manufacturing and testing have met approved standards.

Burglary Protection Certification

Certified safes include a plate guaranteeing the safe was tested and rated against modern burglary methods and tools.

Cash Rating Certificate

Grades are issued by independent accredited institutes, ranging from Grade 0 to VI for safes and up to XIII for vaults.
