Guardall KCR Security Safe vs Chubb Europa Grade 3

Safeguard Safes has been in the security industry for over 35 years supplying security safes and vaults to Australian customers in need. Delivery, installation and maintenance services have also been carried out extensively by our professional Technicians. During this period of time, we have seen some excellent safes and, unfortunately also some terrible ones. One of our major roles is to help our customers to identify and pick up the better quality safes from a vast variety of safes available in the market. Today we will be reviewing two of the most popular premium quality safes we see in today’s Australian security market, the Guardall KCR security safe and the Chubb Europa Grade 3 safe.

Chubb Europa safes are the “go-to” option for people that are after a high-end safe. Throughout the last century, Chubb safes have been at the forefront of creative safe design. In the late 1980s, Chubb Safes shut down their Sydney manufacturing unit due to the emergence of cheaper overseas labour. Chubb safes now operates under the umbrella of Gunnebo, a large multinational corporation.

The Chubb Europa range grades their safes from 1 to 7, with 7 being the highest on the strength scale. The construction and design of the safe defines its position on the strength grading scale, it has a direct impact on its insurance and fire ratings. Chubb Europa grade 3 safes has a cash rating of $100,000, whereas grade 5 has a cash rating of $250,000. They are currently manufactured in Indonesia and delivered to Gunnebo’s Australian headquarters in Sydney. The Chubb Europa has an anti drill hardplate and a glass relocking system. It also includes an angled deflection plate to protect the lock’s body. The exterior skin on the door and wall is approximately 3mm thick, with a similar thickness on the inside. The ‘barrier’ is constructed of a refractory composite with high density that nearly mimics concrete. The Chubb Europa grade 3 has been tested in a furnace for one hour to protect paper. It comes in a few different models of various sizes, weight, and locking mechanisms. Follow the links below for more information:

The Guardall KCR series has been available for over 10 years, they are being manufactured in China. The KCR series provides the ultimate protection against all known forms of professional attacks by such means as oxy-acetylene, high-speed drills and grinders, explosives and force, pneumatic and hydraulic power tools, crowbars, etc. the safe body is constructed with 10mm outer skin on the door and a 6mm skin on the body. The inner skin on the door is 5mm and the inside on the wall or body is 3mm. The expanding fire seal around the safe door frame restricts fire, water and smoke from entering the safe.

The KCR range has a cash rating of $250,000, the range spans from 240kg to 2000kg, checkout the full Guardall KCR range below:
