A Burg-Wachter Safe Story

a burg-wachter safe story

A customer from Osborne Park, WA recently experienced the following attack on a Burg-Wachter CombiLine Safe.

The Customer bought a CL40E a little time ago. The safe was fitted in a wall unit of a house on the 1st floor but not bolted to a wall or floor as per the customer’s requirements. The house was then broken into!

The thieves threw the safe down the curving staircase (doing major damage to the floor and walls of the house). They also stole lots of other items from around the house including the owners new $150k BMW, they put the stolen goods and the entire safe in the BMW and drove away.

Later in the day the thieves placed the safe at the bottom of a large tree and kept driving the BMW into the safe trying to get into it. In the meantime, the police were following the GPS tracker in the BME. The police interrupted the thieves smashing the BMW by driving it back and forth into the safe. Some of the thieves were arrested and some ran into the bushes and got away. The police recovered the now written off BMW and the unopened Burg safe.

The safe was taken back to Fremantle police station, where safe Experts were called in to open the safe on behalf of the police and customer to recover the $100k of jewellery that was still inside the safe.

The customer ordered another CL40E (this time bolting it down) but the rigidity of the Burg safe saved the customer a loss of over $100k worth of sentimental jewellery.
