Gun Safes, Rifle Safes, Firearm Safes with Bank Quality Security

Purchasing a high quality gun or firearm safe that is of bank grade quality will provide a far superior level of safety and protection than that of the cheap rifle safes on the market today.

Bank quality safes are designed and constructed with high grade materials such as steel and other high strength metals and alloys which offer far greater resistance against a variety of break in instruments frequently used by criminals to break into firearm safes, that’s where ex bank quality safes are ideal to convert into custom made gun safes.

We can repurpose a pre-used banker safe into a premium rifle safe for storage of rifle and long barrelled sport firearms that also incorporate and operate lockable ammunition compartments.

Firearms must be secured and locked away in a purpose built gun safe and depending on the firearm / gun / rifle / pistol / ammunition, will determine what category the firearm needs to be stored under such as category A, B, C, D & H. for example A & B firearm safes can be constructed of steel and if the safe is less than 150kg, it must be anchored down on the premises to store the firearm and the door must be secured with a lock of sturdy construction.

The ammunition storage compartment is constructed to be separate within the safe and be lockable with pistol safes; you are not permitted to store ammunition in the same lockable as your pistol. Separate lockable compartments allow storage of a selection of pistols and firearms whilst also offering the function of an everyday safe.

Avoid inferior rifle safes and rifle cabinets on the market today and don’t risk accidental use which could result in a tragedy. Safety is a must and storing rifles on your premises, owning guns comes with serious obligations and one of the main ones is to make sure they’re locked away in a safe and secure firearm safe when not in use. So beware of cheap gun safes that can be easily broken into. We can help you to select the right firearm safe for your needs. When it comes up to choosing your requirements in a bespoke gun safe, always plan to go larger than you think as it is a  fact over time your gun collection grows and together with other associated items, such as scopes, glasses, cleaning gear, sights, grips, spare parts, tool box and more your gun safe will quickly and surely grow too small to use. If you can afford to buy a larger one, you will definitely always use the extra space now and in the future.

Another bit of vital advice is avoid low quality off the shelf cheap gun safes as many of these low end imported overseas pistol / rifle safes hold very little security and hardly meet the minimum legal standards and in fact are hopelessly inadequate for safeguarding your firearms.

The majority of cheap imported low-end gun safes are often constructed of poor quality thin steel, giving very little resistance to force entry and the doors are typically secured by cheap low quality electronic digital locks that provide basic locking.

The new firearm storage requirements in Victoria for example, on the 30th August 2022, included several changes to the gun and firearm storage laws. • The steel must be of a thickness of at least 1.6mm (which complies with Australian/New Zealand standards 1594:2002
  • If the receptacle weighs less than 150 kilograms when its empty, it must be bolted to the structure of the premises
  • When firearms are stored in the receptacle, it must be locked of sturdy construction.
